Services

Inpatient Care – Both acute care and skilled nursing care are available at PCMC.
The hospital has 17 beds and has 24 hour nursing care. Active medical staff: John Neese, PA-C, Dane Simons, MD, Guenther Muens, MD, Nhi Le, M.D.

Emergency Room – Medical care is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at the PCMC Emergency Room. If needed services are not available at PCMC, the patient will be stabilized and then transferred to the facility of their choice.

Laboratory – Both inpatient and outpatient laboratory services are available, including chemical, hematology and coagulation studies, blood therapy, serological studies, and clinical microscopy. There is also a Blood Bank for those patients requiring transfusion. PCMC’s laboratory complies with standards and regulations required by CLIA-88 State and Federal laws and Medicare Standards for Pathology and Clinical Laboratory Services. Radiology – A fully-equipped radiographic room is available at PCMC, including mobile x-ray equipment to better serve our patients. These services are available to both inpatients and outpatients, when ordered by a licensed physician/provider. Physical Therapy – The P.T. department is a fully equipped department offering therapy to both inpatients and outpatients. Whirlpool, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, iontophoresis are a few of the modalities available.

Pharmacy – The pharmacy at PCMC provides medications, drugs and diagnostic testing materials for patients of the hospital. Our Pharmacy Technician also provides drug information and education to patients and their families. All State and Federal regulations are in place, to help ensure a quality product for our patients. Tele-Health Education – PCMC, in partnership with MEHOP (Matagorda Episcopal Health Outreach Program) and UTMB’s Stark Diabetes Center, Galveston, Texas provide live, interactive Diabetes Education Sessions on a regular basis. Sessions are offered monthly in English and Spanish and are taught by Certified Diabetes Educators: Sidney Bailey, RN, MSN, CDE and Sandra Green, RN, MSN, CDE. Sandra Bickham, RN, facilitates the sessions at PCMC’s TeleHealth Education Room located in the hospital. These sessions are open to the public at no charge.

Diabetes Self-Management Classes – These classes will reinforce the TeleHealth sessions, using written materials, food models and other activities. Some topics include: What is diabetes? What is high or low blood sugar? What foods have sugar and what can I eat? Classes are held on Tuesdays from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. and are available to the public on a first come basis at no charge. The course is for eight weeks and is helpful not only to the diabetic patient but to family members as well. Interested in the Diabetes Education Programs?
